At Beaumont Advanced Processing, our solution is to provide "gold-level" material characterization by generating the CRIMS/STAMP models for use within Autodesk Moldflow Simulation Software. This goes beyond standard testing by capturing a material's complex shrinkage behavior across a wide range of processing variables.
To support this data generation, we utilize an Optical Measurement System, which measures true shrinkage on plastic parts.
What the system does: The optical system will measure a grid pattern molded on the parts. By measuring all of the tags from the shrinkage molding DOE, true anisotropic shrinkage can now be determined in order to generate a CRIMS model of coefficients.
This will also feed the STAMP 3D shrinkage model.
